Missions Giving Statement

Palm Valley Baptist Church strongly believes in Missions. We cooperate with the Florida Baptist Convention, and The Jacksonville Baptist Association to help fulfill this endeavor. The Cooperative Program http://www.flbaptist.org/ of the Florida Baptist Convention receives 6.00% of the tithes and offerings that are collected at Palm Valley Baptist Church, and The Jacksonville Baptist Association http://www.jaxbaptist.org/ receives 2.00% of those offerings. Along with these regular monthly gifts we support the World Hunger, Annie Armstrong, Lottie Moon, Maguire State, Florida Baptist Children’s Home, and Seafarer’s Ministry. Palm Valley also supports other local missions and mission trips.

A Message From The WMU President

Our August WMU meeting was very productive and we have several missions on the horizon. Today, if you’re the observant type, you will notice the presence of BLUE PIGS in various locations throughout our church buildings. We call this the BLUE PIG Spare Change project, and have already started collecting our loose change to “feed the pigs!” All money collected will go directly to the Cabaret Children’s Orphanage in Haiti. The last time we did this (2016) we raised almost $650 for a needy family here in PV. I’m hoping we can top that this year, so please start rounding up that loose change!  We will also be partnering with BEAM again this year and making up those wonderful Thanksgiving Baskets for needy families here in the Beaches communities. We’ll print out fliers with all of the details as we get closer to Thanksgiving. And for Christmas, we’ll be filling shoeboxes for Samaritan’s Purse: Operation Christmas Child. A list of suggested items will be provided and we already have the pre-printed shoeboxes for those who plan to participate. Collection week for these boxes is November 12-19, in order for them to get to their children by Christmas. That means that November will be a Very Busy Month for us here at PVBC, but just think of (and pray for) the families and the children who will be blessed in such a special way through your generosity! PVBC truly is a church family with a heart for missions. We are His hands and feet, after all!

May God bless each of you.

Crystal D. Baer
