Missions Giving Statement

Palm Valley Baptist Church strongly believes in Missions. We cooperate with the Florida Baptist Convention, and The Jacksonville Baptist Association to help fulfill this endeavor. The Cooperative Program http://www.flbaptist.org/ of the Florida Baptist Convention receives 6.00% of the tithes and offerings that are collected at Palm Valley Baptist Church, and The Jacksonville Baptist Association http://www.jaxbaptist.org/ receives 2.00% of those offerings. Along with these regular monthly gifts we support the World Hunger, Annie Armstrong, Lottie Moon, Maguire State, Florida Baptist Children’s Home, and Seafarer’s Ministry. Palm Valley also supports other local missions and mission trips.

A Message From The WMU President

The annual WMU Garage Sale is scheduled for Saturday, March 30th, from 8-noon. If you have any items you would like to donate, please bring them to the church office between 9 and 12 on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. We will spend part of Friday, March 29th setting up the tables and just generally getting organized. We’d love to have your help, and the hours for that will be posted as we get closer to the date. This is our big fund-raiser for the year, and 100% of the proceeds will go toward WMU missions projects. So with spring just around the corner, we can all get a head start with that spring cleaning and get rid of some accumulated clutter! Did you know that an overabundance of things can negatively impact our mental well-being and how we feel about our home? I recently read an article in Renew magazine titled, “Less Mess, Less Stress” and there were some very helpful tips for purging items that may be weighing you down: Ask questions. As you go through your items, ask yourself: Why do I have this? Does it still provide a purpose for me? Could someone else benefit from it more?Team up. Enlist a partner, family member, or friend to help. He or she can keep you motivated and offer another perspective on sentimental items. Make three simple piles: keep, toss, and donate. This prevents the temptation to make mounds of “maybe” items. Block off time. Schedule “decluttering” sessions into your calendar to stay committed to the task. Break it up over several mini sessions to make the process less overwhelming. Sounds like a win-win to me! We can positively affect our mental well-being and benefit others by donating things we really don’t need and no longer use!

I thank you all in advance for your support!
