Please bring a covered dish to share
The ladies of WMU had a very productive meeting in October, and planning for our 2019 missions is well underway! Our goal is to focus on a "Mission-A-Month", and more details will follow. We are literally “wrapping up” the Operation Christmas Child mission project. Filled boxes are beginning to collect on the WMU table in the Fellowship Hall. The deadline to turn in your child’s box is Sunday, November 11th. A huge THANK YOU to all of you who have participated—what a wonderful feeling to know that PVBC is making a difference for children in need this Christmas!
Speaking of children in need: We’re still collecting your spare change for the Cabaret Children’s Home in Haiti. We’ll collect through the end of November, and then send it off to Haiti. So please, keep feeding those BLUE PIGS!
Now that November is here, it’s time to turn our attention to BEAM (Beaches Emergency Assistance Ministry) and their annual Thanksgiving Basket giveaway. This wonderful mission provides a complete Thanksgiving meal to needy families here in our Beaches communities. For those of you who wish to participate, we will provide you with a shopping list of non-perishable items. Once we receive the bags, WMU will purchase gift cards for each one so that the recipients can go to Publix and purchase a ham or turkey. In the past, we’ve filled the bags that you can purchase for a dollar by the checkout line at Publix (the Thanksgiving bags should be out soon), and some have used doubled-up roasting pans (the Dollar Store has them!) to fill with the items. I emphasize "doubled-up” because they get so heavy! Either way, we thank you in advance for sharing from your own blessings with those less fortunate this holiday season! The deadline for this will be Tuesday, November 13th.
May God continue to watch over and bless each of you!

WMU, The Woman’s Mission Union, is for all the women at Palm Valley Baptist Church that would like to attend. WMU meets the third Thursday of each month at 6 PM in the Fellowship Hall. This is a dinner meeting and we each bring a covered dish to share.
